OUR BELIEFS

THE BANQUET NETWORK DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

  • we believe the Bible is inspired by God, inerrant, sufficient and affirm that it is the final authority on all matters of faith and life.

  • we believe that God is the eternal triune God who reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

  • we believe that mankind is saved by grace through faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ alone.

  • we believe that there is one universal church of Jesus Christ that is expressed in multiple communities of people across the earth gathered to worship, love and serve God.

  • we believe, affirm and strive to live out the first and second great commandments as found in Matthew 22:37-40,

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments,

as well as the teachings of Jesus and all the biblical prescriptions about morality.

  • we believe that people affected by disability are created in the image of God, loved by God and need to be reached with the gospel and included in the church so that they can live out their God given vocation in the church and the world. We believe that people with disabilities are an indispensable part of the body of Christ and that the Church is incomplete without people with disabilities.

We believe that the exclusion of people with disabilities from the church is not only a tragedy because the transformative gospel never reaches them—the hidden tragedy is that the church, the body of Christ itself, is disabled for lack of people with disabilities.
